estled in the valley of Tepoztlán, Morelos, our Literary Café aspires to be a true reflection of all the charms of this beautiful and ancient town: a haven of tranquility, an environment conducive to inspiration and reflection and a perfect setting for the exchange of ideas and experiences.
The bookstore's broad selection of titles in both English and Spanish, should provide something for everyone, encouraging all ages to spend time browsing, choosing and then enjoying our recommendations. A separate children's room, filled with enticing titles for every age, has a particular appeal for our younger clients.
And surrounding the bookstore lies a large and sunny garden that provides an ideal location either for a quiet read or to enjoy a meal with friends and family on the covered terrace, all under the watchful eye of the Tepozteco, the ancient mountain that guards our valley.

ur selection of books includes the latest offerings in fiction and non-fiction, in politics and history, biographies, mysteries, art and cookery, to mention but a few. There are 'bestsellers', classics, hard-to-find and hot-off-the-press, books to curl up with and books to sit through the night with, those that will make you cry and those that will make you smile.
Every month we showcase an author, inviting them to present their latest publication in the informal and intimate setting of the garden. These events have proved immensely popular and within the context of writers in English, we have been privileged by the presence of such famed authors as Kiran Desai, Diana Kennedy, Elizabeth Hay and Diane Feinstein, amongst others.

Approximately forty percent of our books are in English, and we bring in new titles at least once a month. We can also order any title upon request, delivering within a maximum 3-week period.
One of the most popular sections of the bookstore is our aptly named "Read & Loved" shelves, filled with secondhand books of all genres, in good condition but going for a song!
And if magazines are your downfall, we offer a great choice of titles, primarily international, covering a broad spectrum of interests from Current Affairs, Travel and Business, to Science and Sports.
Finally, the Childrens' Room is perhaps the most popular of all the areas in the store: a place where children of all ages can call their own, leafing through books in both languages, and deciding which ones to persuade their family to take home!

ith a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains and an extensive garden, La Sombra del Sabino offers a perfect place to meet, to celebrate, or just to have a quiet chat or read.
Our covered terrace has become a popular spot to join friends and family for anything from a piping cup of coffee with a slice of rich cake, to a comforting pot of tea with scones or a glass of wine with a wholesome lunch. In addition to our permanent menu, every week we offer daily 'specials' designed to reflect local ingredients as well as a range of gastronomic delights from around the world.

A choice of wines, beers, Italian sodas and fresh juices complement the menu. And at the weekend, a delicious breakfast selection, served as of 10 a.m. has guaranteed a loyal clientele.
The range of teas we offer runs from classic black tea (think English Breakfast, Darjeeling and Earl Grey) to delicate tisanes, herbal and fruited infusions, whilst for coffee we use the famed organic beans from Chiapas for our espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, etc.

a Sombra del Sabino's scenic garden and surroundings provide a perfect setting for a broad spectrum of cultural and artistic activities that include book presentations, conferences and debates, the occasional concert or theatrical performance, arts and craft fairs and an annual sculpture exhibition. Our events aim to profile both local and international talent and in this task, they attract audiences from far and wide. Especially popular are the weekends dedicated to a specific country: their literature, their culture, their food, their customs and their politics.

Enero 2012
